Elizabeth Firestone, Staff Attorney, joined MIA in July 2016 to provide legal representation to unaccompanied minors and families seeking asylum. Originally from Yellow Springs, Ohio, Ms. Firestone earned both a B.A. in Anthropology and a law degree from Florida State University. During law school, she gained significant experience in immigration law through internships and clinics where she served immigrant victims of domestic violence, farmworkers, and asylum seekers. After law school, Ms. Firestone worked with the Ascentria Care Alliance Immigration Legal Assistance Program in Worcester, Massachusetts where she represented unaccompanied minors in long-term foster care. She is committed to practicing immigration law in the public interest and happy for the opportunity to serve a new community in Memphis.
