April 11, 2016
Since September 2015, MIA has had the immense pleasure of hosting recent law school grad Steven Denton as he establishes his new career as an immigration lawyer. Sadly, his time with us has come to an end, as he has accepted a position with BronxWorks where he will be representing immigrants in applications for lawful permanent residence and naturalization. Although it has been a joy working with Mr. Denton, we are so glad that he is fulfilling his dream of practicing immigration law in New York City. We wish him the very best for a bright future.
It is very bittersweet for me to announce that I will be leaving Mid-South Immigration Advocates on April 20th to begin a new job in the Bronx.
My time at MIA has reaffirmed and strengthened my desire to be an advocate for the immigrant community. The strength in the face of adversity that each of our clients demonstrates on a day-to-day basis is inspiring. I have had the great privilege of assisting clients in seeking asylum from extreme forms of persecution, in working to become citizens of the United States, and in rebuilding their lives after suffering from crime in the United States.
I am so grateful to the entire staff of Mid-South Immigration Advocates for having welcomed me so fully into the office and supported me so generously over the past several months. It has been a privilege to be a part of an organization that is entirely committed to providing the highest level of legal representation at little to no cost for those who need it the most and often have nowhere else to turn.
