Survivors’ Project Civil Attorney Elizabeth R. McClellan is an experienced domestic and sexual violence attorney providing survivors of violent crimes with civil legal services. She previously worked for the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence and for Legal Aid of East Tennessee. Elizabeth has had multiple successful appeals regarding orders of protection, a subject on which they teach continuing legal education statewide and provide training to advocates who assist in completing order of protection petitions.
Elizabeth also has extensive experience in divorce and family law with a focus on domestic violence divorces and custody matters. They published an article on prejudgment attachment in the University of Memphis Law Review after graduating from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2012 and serving on the law review’s editorial board. They are a multiple time Tennessee Attorney for Justice. In their other life, Elizabeth is a poet, author and editor, focusing primarily on science fiction and fantasy themes.
