Survivors’ Project Director

Shelley R. Johnson, Survivors’ Project Director, is a native Memphian who has lived in San Antonio, Houston, and Central America over the last ten years. She is an Accredited Representative, authorized by the Department of Justice to represent immigrants before the Immigration Courts and the Department of Homeland Security. Shelley represents survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and similar crimes in their applications for lawful status.
Shelley has a J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law and a B.A. in Sociology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas (2011). Prior to law school, Shelley worked as a Legal Assistant in Houston, Texas for various public interest immigration law organizations and worked internationally for Habitat for Humanity Guatemala. Shelley is passionate about providing holistic services to clients and creating a space where clients feel understood, welcomed, and valued.
