We are the change we want to see.
Our legal workers are dedicated to providing client-centered, culturally humble immigration services to immigrant communities throughout Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Since 2013, we have provided direct representation to over 1,400 clients and counting. Nearly 90% of our clients receive pro bono services. The value of our free and reduced cost services amounts to over $9.3 million in donated time and expertise over the past 11 years. This work is a direct investment in building strong families and economically thriving communities.
Fast Facts:
- Our clients come from 42 different countries around the world, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe.
- 87% of our clients receive pro bono services.
- 60% of our clients are from Honduras, El Salvador, or Guatemala.
- Although most of our clients are from Latin America, not all of them speak Spanish. After Spanish, the most common languages spoken by our clients are indigenous Mayan languages, including Akateko, Mam, Qʼanjobʼal, and Ki’che’.
- We have offices in Memphis and Nashville, but we serve clients from the Appalachians to the Ozarks and throughout the Mississippi Delta.
- The vast majority of undocumented immigrants are NOT criminals. They are actually more vulnerable to becoming victims of violence. We serve hundreds of survivors of crimes like domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, which disproportionately affect women and girls. More Info
