Executive Director Alicia Horst grew up in Sicily, Italy, which has always been a crossroads for people moving through the Mediterranean region. She moved to the United States for high school and learned to study in English. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Divinity.
Alicia’s professional work has been mostly conducted in a bilingual capacity in both public and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, Alicia was the Executive Director of NewBridges Immigrant Resource Center in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, where she started their Immigration Legal Program and became a DOJ partially Accredited Representative.
Alicia will continue to expand awareness of the need for affordable immigration legal counsel by supporting MIA’s amazing legal team and leading MIA’s fundraising efforts!
