In the future, when we are accepting new clients, if you or a family member are in need of legal services, please review our current services and referral processes before contacting us directly. If you believe you may qualify for our assistance, please call during regular business hours so we can complete intake. We cannot respond to every email inquiry, particularly if they do not fit within our service guidelines.

Unless you are currently our client, we cannot help with completing immigration forms or answer questions about what to do in your case.

Unfortunately, we do not have capacity or funding to provide general legal advice or guidance to the public. 

The majority of MIA’s funding comes from the federal government, so your financial support is needed now more than ever.

MIA is not accepting interns at this time. For externship opportunities, please request application information from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law’s Experiential Learning Program.

Due to the nature of our work, MIA does not typically provide volunteer opportunities to the general public. However, if you have special experience or skills (social work, counseling, professional interpretation/translation capabilities, etc.), we would be happy to discuss ways we can work together to assist our clients.
