Caroline Marie Burriss, Children’s Project Director, is a lifelong Memphian and a graduate of the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law and the University of Tennessee (B.A., Sociology). Before joining MIA as a Staff Attorney in 2017, Caroline found her passion as an immigration attorney through internships with the Community Legal Center Immigrant Justice Program and the Memphis Immigration Court during law school. Her current practice focuses on representing immigrant children.
An avid dog lover, Caroline enjoys spending time with her two “daughters,” Millie and Finn, and providing a foster home to dogs who need some extra attention and care before being re-homed.
